About Power Planning and Monitoring Company (PPMC)

Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is responsible for providing policy and technical assistance to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division).

The company oversees integrated power sector planning in Pakistan, formulates and implements strategic plans, and monitors and evaluates the performance of power sector entities in line with approved policies and frameworks.

PPMC is inviting applications from competent and qualified professionals for the following positions. Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of three months, after which employment will continue in accordance with company policy.

Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks efficiently, and maintain confidentiality is essential. Applicants should also be proficient in IT and possess high standards of integrity and professionalism.

Position 1: Specialist (Internal Audit)

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute risk-based internal audit plans approved by the Audit Committee.
  • Coordinate kickoff meetings with Internal Audit, Commercial Audit teams, and the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Guide Assistant Audit Specialists in conducting risk assessments and process mapping.
  • Assist in developing audit procedures to address identified risks.
  • Supervise audit activities including information requisitions, sampling, and working paper preparation.
  • Prepare working paper summaries and finalize audit documentation.
  • Draft internal audit and follow-up audit reports for review by the CIA.
  • Conduct meetings with auditees to discuss findings and management responses.
  • Focus on operational efficiency and effectiveness during audit engagements.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKAs)

  • ACMA / ACA / ACCA qualification from a recognized professional body.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant audit experience.
  • Strong command of internal audit standards, risk-based auditing, and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience in operational, IT, compliance, and financial audits.
  • Knowledge of Government, Commercial, DAC, and RAC audit procedures.
  • Familiarity with SOX Act 2011, SROs, NT regulations, and PPMC rules.
  • Strong analytical, supervisory, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and sound professional judgment.

Remuneration & Age Limit

Position 2: Assistant Specialist (Internal Audit)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Specialist Internal Audit and CIA in preparing engagement plans.
  • Understand process flows and systems for financial and operational recording.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to evaluate processes and controls.
  • Execute audit plans based on identified risks.
  • Prepare audit testing templates and perform sampling.
  • Collect sufficient and appropriate audit evidence.
  • Prepare and maintain audit working papers.
  • Report significant issues to the Specialist Internal Audit.
  • Participate in exit meetings and assist in report preparation.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKAs)

  • ACMA / ACA / ACCA / CA Finalist / ACMA Finalist from a recognized professional body.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant audit experience.
  • Working knowledge of internal audit standards and risk-based auditing.
  • Experience in operational, financial, and compliance audits.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong professional ethics and integrity.
